Anyone tried a Cool Shirt?
Has anyone tried one of these Cool Shirts? Do they work and which models have you tried? It is getting hot outside! Thanks!

Having a cooler mounted in your car saves time strapping down the portable unit.
Adding a helmet mounted intake for cool air and a drink straw completes the package!

I run them in both my cars when extremely hot and during Enduros. The hooded shirt is great during extreme conditions. The secret is mixing the correct water to ice ratio so you get cold flow for the entire session/race.

I use a FAST cooling system which cools the shirt (cold water) and helmet (cold air). Would not consider racing in hot weather without it now. It has an amazingly positive effect and prevents concentration failure due to the heat.

Thanks! I just checked that one out, that may be the way to go, that setup definitely looks like it could spoil you. Since I have gotten older the heat is a little harder to handle....

I use one all of the time in hot weather. If you decide on the one with the hood? Besure to make sure that it will go under your helmet comfortably. If your helmet fits snug the hooded coolshirt makes it to tight. Just a heads up!! JD

We ran them in all of the TransAm and World Challenge cars.
The ALMS car of course used A/C during most of it's career.
I do have smaller systems for guys to pop in and out of their cars, especially if you are using them as dual purpose.

I have these in stock as well.

I have used the kind that has freezable inserts that you stick in the shirt. They stay cold for about an hour. You can stick it in a cooler of ice water and it will "freeze" at 50 degrees and stay solid (and cold) for a while.
