C5 transmission cooler flow direction
I am in the process of changing the trans fluid in my T1 car.
It has a trans cooler with a pump, the lines connect to the drain and the fill.
I had thought that the pump should pump from the drain, through the cooler, and back into the fill, but I switched on the pump and it is working in the opposite way, pumping from the fill back into the drain.
This doesn't make much sense to me. Is this pump running backwards or is it correct this way?
I was also thinking to fill the trans, then switch on the pump until the fluid pumped out of the fill line and then fill until the trans was full, but this doesn't work if I am pumping from the fill.

Sounds like the hoses are hooked up backwards on the pump.

Tom that is the exact same pump setup I have -that is an expensive pump!
I swapped the hoses and it works now. Changing the fluid is messy business with this setup.
