Default A few cool Mid Ohio ALMS pics

I was at Mid-Ohio to watch the Corvette C6R's race in the American LeMans Series Race this past weekend (August 7 & 8) and I got to spend half the race between the Corvette Racing Pits and the Risi Ferrari Pits. It was quite an experience and I took hundreds of pics. Here are a few examples.
NOTE:These pics were just taken with a small Canon Powershot point and shoot. I wish I had had a good camera with me.

The #4 Corvette in the pits during a Driver Change stop

The #4 leaving the pits

The #62 Risi Ferrari in the Pits

Thanks for posting the photos. Did you spend any time in the tunnel when cars were on track? There are some very cool noises in there.

I walked thru the tunnel Sunday during the Indy Car Race. It was pretty cool..

Man, it was really cool being in the Corvette Racing pit.

Did you get that close with just the regular pit pass offered when you bought tickets? Or did you have something special?

I had a pit pass and everything but then had to have my appendix taken out Friday (not planned) so I missed the race. Your pictures are so good though its like I didnt miss anything! If only the scent of exhaust and fuel could come through my computer some how.

I won the opportunity to be taken down to the Corvette Racing Pit in a raffle at the Corvette Corral. I got way more than I bargained for when I went to his race. As it ended up, once they saw that I knew what I was doing down there (in the pits) and knew how to stay out of peoples way, they left me down there for half the race and allowed me to roam the entire pit area. I kept gravitating back to the Corvette Pit however. I took hundreds of pics while I had this chance....

Those are some awesome shots.

I got to work as a Pit Marshall at 24hrs of Daytona for a few years back in the 70s. The pits is where it's at for watching a race. I didn't have a decent camera or time to take pics while working back then. I have a few faded Kodak 110 shots. LOL

This place has some good racing shots for you facebookers.

Very nice pics Glenn. What a great experience.

Question, did you happen to be in the Corvette Corral when they gave out the Club Participation Award. We won the award with our group of (18)Corvette Forum Members from Ohio and Canada. We didn't get to the track in time for the presentation, but they told us someone said they knew us and took the award. We have no idea who took the award.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave
