BRE Aerovault Aluminum Trailers - Anybody seen one ??
I have been bouncing around the idea of purchasing a fully enclosed trailer to haul the toy and all the normal junk. I don't want to trade trucks because the Silverado 1500 I have is paid for and low mileage. Aluminum is a necessity because of weight. I found this info on the Pete Brock Areovault trailers. A really neat efficient design. Has anyone seen / or do you own one of these ? They are a bit pricy, but the aero advantages and light weight seem to be worth it.

Chuck,
I know a guy in the Riesentoter PCA Club who has one. It's a very nice trailer and extremely well engineered. If you have the money, it's a very good design.

Anything that Pete Brock designed or made would be very high quality. His operations must be on the west coast so if you buy one you need to consider the shipping. That might be as much as 25% of the cost of a good Ford used diesel truck. The Trailex is a good alternative.

That looks like an awesome trailer, but talk about sticker-shock!!!
For that much $ I feel like you'd be better off getting a nice $10k "regular" enclosed trailer which will have much more space for wheels/tires, tools, parts/spares etc. And taking the $10k you saved on the price of the trailer and trading your 1500 up to a 2500/3500 Diesel.

I would seriously consider the limited utility of any low profile trailer. With a full size enclosed trailer, you have valuable workspace and shelter at the track. My aluminum enclosed trailer has a 6'6" interior and weighs 2450lbs and with a V-nose was $8600 new. Check out http://www.nhtrailers.com/car-hauler-trailer.htm.
With a trailer weighing 2450lbs, a 3350lb car and gear I easily tow this with my Silverado 1500.

I have to say that's a dead sexy trailer and sounds like top quality parts. I hope you get one because I'd like to see it up close.

A Lotus racer from AZ has one. Very nicely built trailer. He could not say enough good things about how it towed. But I have to say for my money I would not get one... I would want something I can stand up in. A full size unit with a generator and AC can make hanging out at the track a much more enjoyable experience.
If you need lightweight, a Trailex enclosed would be the way to go.
Sure you might give up a little fuel economy with a taller trailer, but the sticker price of the BRE takes a lot of gas money out of your pocket.

One of the joys of an enclosed trailer is being able to stand up in it and watch the rain. I really don't want a trailer where I have to be bent over all the time.

After much research, I purchased a Rance Aluminum trailer about 5 years ago, my 24' v nose weighed 3000 lbs before I added E-track and a few other things which raised it up to about 3450 lbs. Cost 13K in 05, my 3/4 ton suburban handles it fine.

Ditto I know the same guy, and its pretty sweet. Down side is that the STORAGE in them is not like having a full sized trailer. BUT its light, aerodynamic etc so towing is a breeze and the gas mileage of your tow vehicle will thank you at 90mph

Trailer
At that price level, I would look for a used Gold Rush or Motorsport trailer. Either of those can be purchased used for the same amount and usually have A/C, insulation and a light package.
