I was pretty impressed! I guessed the weight close. It's been on a diet for years. I found a local racer that bought scales and an alignment machine. He will setup other cars for a small fee, pretty cool! I'll be under 3000 for track weight, I had a lot of gas in there and also plan a fuel cell soon.

The car should be corner weighted with the driver weight in the car. If racing, then it should be corner weighted with driver or equivalent plus all racing equipment in place in the car.

Yep, notice the weight difference. The first pic is with driver and helmet.

When I did the math the corner weight actually got better with me in the seat. IIRC it was 50.6% without me then 50.1% with me.

bearnest, just think about it like a table. You ever go to a restaurant, and one of the legs is too short. 2 of the legs are doing too much work, the other 2 or sharing the work part of the time, depending on who decides to put their elbows on the table.

This rocking is similar to braking/accelerating/turning at the track. If the corner weights aren't more-or-less even (rf+lr=lf+rr) then 2 tires are overload, the other 2 are under worked depending on where the weight is shifted.

In NASCAR, where you only turn one way, this is very useful for dialing into oversteer or understeer (purposely overloading a tire). For road courses, you general want the cross weights even. In a C5/C6 with leaf springs, if you get within 15-20lbs, you are good.

Thanks! I too was a little unsure how it worked. I thought the idea was to make the scales read the same number on all four corners. On my car with me in it, and all my race gear and 1/3 tank, the car weighs 3519 , but the weights are

I get a cross weight difference of 7, so this is good?

Andrew, that is one light C4! Good job!

Thanks! I get 49.9% for yours! I guess these C4's are pretty balanced! You add the RF to the LR then divide by the total weight.

Here is a good article:

Cool! Good article. Yeah I removed some stuff, added a 4 point bar, accusump, oil cooler, and kinda moved stuff around to what I thought was a good place but never had it cornerweighted. I guess it was just good from the factory! Now I need to mine down to where you are!
