Install - Z06 Roof in a 2005 Base C6
For those looking to stiffen the chassis of the base C6 this is a good option. The Z06 roof bolts in using all the stock hardware from the Z06. The most difficult part of the work is removing the brackets from the Z06 halo as they are welded in place. They need to be cut out and then ground clean. I have no pictures of that part of the work, but it is pretty strait forward.
Check out the pictures below for a more detailed view of the install. (please excuse the blurry pictures)
A top view of the rear corner bracket.
A top view of the center bracket.
Bottom view of the corner bracket. The stock mounting points of the targa top brackets are utilized. One slot in the bracket needs to be opened up slightly to properly align the bracket with the roof.
Roof shimmed and installed.
Front mounting points (passenger side). Again the roof mounts to the points of the targa top brackets.
Center bracket with roof installed
Rear corner bracket with roof installed.
That's about it. I will test it for a while (check for leaks) and then install the headliner.
