Default Can a C5 Z play with a Viper SRT-10?

Only if the Viper pilot helps out a little.

My car is stock power with headers and a tune. Suspension is basic coil-overs, Phatty sways, poly bushings, BBK, and some sticky Pirelli 305 slicks. I don't know what's up with my car this year, but it is really running well.

The Viper is gutted, caged, and the owner alleges stock power (605 HP) and 3,300 lbs which seems light, but I don't know squat about Vipers other than they look heavier than that.

I suspect that there are better lines the Viper could run that would make him vanish in front of my eyes. The first two laps he is behind me, the last two I play chase...damn, that thing pulls on the straights.

Fun with a Viper at WGI

Default Nice Job!

Nice job out there. Man I've never been to the Glen. That looks like a fast fast track...

Nice driving and thanks for posting. Looks like you were having some fun.

Nice smooth driving . I love the Glen . Fast track , smoothness is rewarded and mistakes can really be costly

All else being equal, the SRT-10's are faster. I had good races in my T1 car against both Dave Pintaric and Stan Wilson in well-prepared T1 Vipers and we were quite equal (as in - I was a close second on both occasions ). In T1 trim, the Vipers run a restrictor and without it, I'm sure they would've pulled me badly on the straights.

I know that a well prepared and piloted SRT-10 will blow my doors off. The one I got to play with is well prepared, but perhaps it should participate in some more flight school.

The group is Phoenix CMR, I have been instructing for them for a few years. They are not as fast as Trackmasters or Group 52, but they are a well run, safe, courteous, fun group to run with.
