beware of Racing Adventures
A little background....
the wife bought me a gift certificate thru racingschools.com for my birthday almost a year ago. so I look at their site to see what classes there were that interested me. there was a class to drive a C5 at Summit Point which is less than 2 hours from my house. I inquire about dates for this class. finally after several months, I register for a class in May, pay the additional money amounting to 999.00 total. the day before the class, he cancels the class because I was the only one signed up for it. ok, fair enough, I ask about future classes and was told there would be some in the early fall. again, fair enough. so in june, I email about dates so i can plan time off if needed, and again in July, and then again in August....finally I was told there would be no more classes in 2010 at Summit Point. I then asked for a refund....this is where the fun starts....
David At racing adventures tells me that my refund would be subject to whatever fees came from the gift certificate...at first I jsut wanted to be done and cut my losses, but then decided to make racingschools.com aware of the situation. the owner of racing schools was very helpful and emailed David and told him he was going to refund the amount of the gift certificate without any fees. then it turns out that racing adventures had already been paid for the class by myself and racingschools.com, so another kink. the 2 owners work it out to hold back money from someone elses class to refund my money...fair enough. I then ask SEVERAL times for a status on my refund and was essentially lied to saying that he was waiting for racingschools.com to agree to a resolution (which im sure he was unaware that I had already spoken to them), then he said he had refunded my money, and told me not to call back....then I get an email saying he wanted me to email my CC number and CCV code so he could refund my card....lie number 2. i call my credit card company at this point to figure out what to do since i was asked not to call back. he told them on the phone that he was going to send me a check but wasnt now because I got the CC company involved.
Bacially, I called back to give him my CC number to make the refund but was again greeted with hostility. i told him if he wasnt going to take my CC number over the phone, then we would just let the CC company do their investigation knowing I h ave all of the emails requesting everything. he took it, and finally refunded my money....
I just wanted to make anyone on here thinking of taking a corvette class, to look to bondurant or someone else because this guy is shady!
buyer beware....

Come out to a Friday at the track at Summit Point. There is one on the 10th and 24th of this month, as well as one on 10/22.
You have to drive your own car, but I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the track time or instruction. If you have a conflict, simply notify the chief instructor and changes will be made.
You DO drive their car on the skidpad.

You need to track the car to fully enjoy it....I owned a 2006 911s, 2007 Z06 and drove them around as daily drivers...hand washing them every week....then I sat in a vette for a track day and was hooked. I hate to see small blemishes on my 2009 vette but I can't stop smiling everytime I track it!! :o

Evil,
I'm not generous enough to let you borrow my Corvette, but I'm thinking about your situation. You can rent a race Miata right at Summit Point (from RP Performance) but I don't think those cars have a passenger seat. Most of the schools/ HPDE's require an instructor to ride w/ you initially.
Would you consider renting a Mustang or Camaro for an event? You may have to stretch the truth when you sign the papers at Avis or Hertz.
