Caravaggio Daytona Seats
Looking to buy a set of Caravaggio Daytona seats but want to have a test sit first to make sure my fat a$$ fits.
Anybody near the Washington DC area that has a set that would not mind me doing a test sit?
PM your response.

If you plan on tracking your car quite a bit, leather is not the best seating surface.
Gets a bit too slippery, plus it not fire retardant.
This is one of those challenges. Great looking and comfortable seats for every day driving or race seats.

I am doing 6-8 HPDE events a year and just want to be held a bit tighter in the seat. So it is not so much a safety item for me as it is a driving aid.
Would us an Alcantera center section to provide a little more grip.

if any seat does not have the sub belt holes dont get them
what is Alcantera ? if it is NOT nomex dont get it.
safety and driving aid go together.
Caravaggio Daytona seats are sport seats. If that is what you want, get them.
The sub belts might be able to go between the seat back on bottom. not come up from in front of the seat.
the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in are aluminum buckets. Ultra-shield, Kirkey, or Butler Built seats.

I never said anything about racing. Just want a better than OEM seat to hold me in place that uses a harness.
Still looking for one to sit in, not looking for comments about how appropriate they are for my application.

Dan -
Then don't ask here, unfortunately. You're going to end up getting certain folk who pop up and tell you that you're crazy for considering X seat (X helmet, X harness type, X whatever) because it's not what they'd use or not what's allowed in racing applications.
As for the Daytonas, I contacted John and asked him if he had any customers in this immediate area. He doesn't, unfortunately. Closest guy is somewhere in North Carolina, which is a bit of a drive to test a seat. ;-)

Golden, I mean no offense d00d, but you need to open your eyes a little more and look at what's out there. There are a bunch of other harness options that don't require all the slots and holes, etc. Look to Teamtech's Jet Pilot harness as just one example.

Cool. as long as they are mounted per the harness manufactures recommendations.
and race applications also tend to be with HPDE applications, which follow certain tech rules, which tend to be close to the PCA rules for seats and harnesses.
for example Ppl showing up to event with scroth 4 point belts find they can not use them, even though they Scroth says they are DOT approved. and arguing is a moot point.
Just trying to help some one avoid tech challenges or rejections at HPDEs. Does it happen? YES.

You could try the Corbeau FX1 on Hardbar seat rails. Easy to swap in/out. They have 3 different sizes that fit up to a 42" waist.

I've got the FX1 Pro on Hardbar seat rails (fits up to 36" waist) in my C5Z. I'm 5'10", 175 lbs and I have no problems with headroom with my helmet on.

Melting Slicks
I think some seats w/ better bolstering is a great idea for you, they'll help you loosen your grip on the wheel for sure.

Wally is a funny guy and a great instructor and driver.
Me Athletic? no, Me Homer yes.
I sent this to a current owner of the seats:
They responded:
So I guess I still need a test sit since the opinions seem to vary rather widely.
Wally is correct, I do need to loosen the grip. Not having to hold on would help significantly.

I am 5'10 215# Do you think the seats would fit someone my width?
Yes, I'm 6'4" and weigh 255 - I work out, so I have a wide upper. The sides of seats are adjustable, both top and bottom.
