New(Used)C4. First time at Track. 1,000 miles from home
I just bought a stock '92 Vette with 43K on the clock. I live in Texas, and am going to pick the car up in Georgia in 1.5 weeks, where I'll have 1 day to prepare it for my first Track event in South Carolina. I'll be changing the oil and brake pads/fluid, but what else should I do to maximize my chances of having a successful day at the track AND being able to drive her 1,000 miles back home to Texas? I've mentally prepared myself(and my wife) to drop ~$900 to rent a Uhaul truck and trailer to tow her back home if I have to, but obviously I would like to do what I can to minimize the chances of that.

Well "ABE", I recommend that you check your EGO at the door, and plan to just drive around. IF the car runs, and IF there is no breakage, then the only variable is ......"YOU".
Good luck, have fun, and let us know how it goes

Check the hubs, tie rods and u-joints. Change to fresh synthetic PS fluid and new Clutch fluid.
Buy a high pressure PS line, rotors, serp belt and a Front/Rear hub.
That's the standard spares package for a weekend at the track in a C4.
Congrats and Have fun!
