Default Auto Club Speedway infield video. 9/11/10

It's been awhile since my last autocross, so I decided to go to a track day with the Porsche Club. Top time went to a GMG sponsored GT2 and I came in 2nd. Here's 2 of my best laps.

That is a great lap time on that course. Those were two really clean laps. Your driving always impresses me.

That was great Steve. I never did just the infield but it looks like fun.

Another trophy on the mantle

Nice work, Steve.

Did my first track day there in my F Stock '99 Cobra on Nitto 555R2 tires. I got "dissed" by one of the event officials when I asked to not start out in the novice group since I was an experienced autocrosser. (I knew most of the novices had never done any high speed driving nor autocross.) "This isn't autocross," was his smart-@$$ reply. The chief instructor let me move up after a session or two. I took particular pleasure in passing the smart-@$$ on course later in the day.

I know what you mean. Until someone actually does autocross they have no idea how hard it is. Plus it seems like your going twice as fast as most tracks I've been on.

Steve nice driving. I had never seen Auto Club run in that config, would love to try. Seems much more enjoyable than pushing my C4 down the front straight and through turn one where I run out of top end long before some other cars.

What tires were you running?

I believe it, I was referring to the event in 2007, which was my first time on the track in my car. I'd like to go out on the infield again just to see how much I improved. It's going to be a little hard to judge because of the track layout changes but I'm still interested in going out there. Steve looked really quick out there I was just curious.

Nice driving and vid . Autocrossers always seem to make excellent track drivers as well. I actually bought my vette for auto-x, but they shut down the big lot at Castle AFB near my house about 1 month after I bought it .
