NASA ST-1 Project Build - Lots of Pics
I have finally decided to make my C6 a dedicated track car to race NASA ST1 next year. This thread will be to document the process over the next few months...
And it begins...
Waiting on front fascia, Lemans tunneled undertray, hood and fenders from Kerry at ACP.
Hardbar AP Brakes
How do you like this brake ducting?

Here is the engine build thread - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...age-3-a-2.html
I ordered a ARE Stage 3 dry sump system for it today. I figured since I'm am going with a wing, it was time to pay for some insurance.
I need to figure out how to bring it back to around 520 to run with the weight/hp ratio in ST1.

Pulling the motor
Before...
Ready for the drysump. Now wondering if I should go ahead and machine the block for piston squirters...
After...
Who needs AC?

A suggestion for your build: keep an eye on the SCCA STO rules and see if you can make your car legal for both series. This doubles your opportunities to race.
My car can run both, and I plan on doing so in 2011, especially with NASA's championship at Mid Ohio this year (and next).

Does your existing oil pan have a oil temp./level sensor in the right side like my LS2 engine has (see attached)? If it does where are you going to install it in your new dry sump system. The ARE oil tank does not have a port to use. We need to stay in touch for this project.

I also just ordered a ARE dry sump system for my 05 LS2. This is going to be a winter project. The car is up on my lift at this time draining the oil and water.

Do you have the 7030 tank? Did you screw in the oil temp/level sensor into that port?
Can you send me a photo?
Thanks

It's been a busy month. Parts are finally starting to trickle in. My ACP WC bodywork came in today
ACP Hood
Tunneled Undertray
Mockup of ACP Bodywork
Cage Pics
These bars were a pain to get bent
I still have quite a bit of cage work to get done, then start prepping the body parts for paint.
