but you are right the stock clutch should last around 30,000 miles of HPDE's and hiway cruisin' with a stock motor
the stock clutch is a very good deal for the money, its just the install that kills you!

If you are doing any street driving get a full face design, I personally hate my Monster Stage 3 on the street, it grabs like a ****, really sucks in a traffic jam. Works well on the track though.

Speaking from my own experience with the 2+, I doubt very very much it will hold 500whp in "real" track conditions...mine did not, and I am not even at 500 (wish I was ).
Don't gamble, get yourself the 3 or 3+
If you are willing to give up easy launches, and possibly some longevity, for greatly improved performance, get a multi disc.

Monster seems to be the 6 puck disc style. From previous comments the full face would help with the daily driver aspect of things. I am lucky right now and get to avoid most traffic but don't want to hate it if i do get stuck in some (DFW still has some traffic at the wrong hour)
The SPEC stage 3+ has the full surfaced disc and even more capacity (claimed at least) than the monster. If i hit 500rwhp ill be happy but that would probably be the max and torque will be a bit lower so I won't be killing this thing, but to have it hold on the high end and take the RoadRace wear I want to do it right. The little things keep adding up but ill have a beast car when I am done.
What is this option by the way? Concentric Hydraulic Release Bearing/Slave Assembly What is this, is it just SPECs slave style or what?????
Can anyone who has used both clutches comment how SPEC and Monster compare. Just like anything else a new car is going to have a different feel and take some getting used to.

I am thinking the Stage2+ would be a fair balance. I just think the stage 3+ is overkill if the stage2+ hold 715lbtq. Even at the fly i won't be close to 600 hp or tq.
Road Racing isn't like the instant grab thats needed in drag racing. smoother on everything on the racetrack is better.
I think ill try this one and see how it does. The monster 3 with the pucks just seems like its gonna be too much for me right now.

The Spec 3 was the worst decision I've made yet building my car.
I consider myself a pretty good clutch operator, but I swear no matter what I do it feels like the car is being ripped apart by that damn clutch when starting from a stop. I absolutely hate it. I guarantee it's not good for the TT bushings.

Hey Scott,
Did you get a "newer" clutch from them (within last 3 yrs?)...that may be the degradation of quality I have heard of...the Spec 3 I have is awesome...couldnt be happier. The disc is new, but the PP and FW are the older version, which may explain why...

The LS7 is a great clutch considering its price, held my HP/TQ just fine on track, but its heavy as all get out...likely the heaviest of any clutch period. For the street its cool, but I would NEVER recommend that to anyone who actually wants to be competitive in TT or RR.

Right now i only had about 373/369 hp/tq that was with headers only.
The problem is i am doing a 403ci stroker with LS2 stage 2 Heads and i think i may go with a 234/238 .600 114 cam. All of that together is going to change the car dramtically.
I may not hit 500hp/tq but i may be getting closer up there to that number in both hp/tq so that was my worry about the LS7 not holding. I hear its the heaviest but smoothest.
I have been leaning towards the Monster Stage 3. Haven't seen anyone with a bad review yet, but SPEC had mixed reviews some just fine others didn't like it at all.
I doubt to hold the power and not spend a ton it won't be the same old corvette but with a cam and headers and all of this, I really am not tooo worried, just want a reliable decent clutch.
