The camera man didn't get the actual crash on video though. I guess a strong crosswind caught the parachute and took the car off the track

Reese *** of MTI Racing holds the N/A Corvette record at 206mph.
Mike (MTI customer) holds the overall Corvette record at 216.2mph.
Mike's car is ALL STREET. (full interior, no gutting, no weight savings)
It is powered by 500ci using the RHS block and Magnacharger MP2300 Supercharger. It puts down approx 890 RWHP. We also did some modifications to the transmission and differential to change the gearing and deliver more power to the wheels. Of course, I cannot disclose at this time exactly what the ratios are because that would be advertising our mathematics of going fast.
Congratulations to Mike for piloting the fastest Corvette ever to brave the Texas Mile.

So why are the Gallardos so much faster when both the host Vette and Gallardo are so similar in power? Different Class?

Here's another video of the crash from a different camera that clearly shows the crash:

I guess the driver might have a broken foot. I heard that Galardo made over 1700Awhp and did 9.01 in the 1/4mile
