Default Whats needed for racing?

As the title suggests, if I were to get a trailer to transport a Z06 and tools, spares, parts etc what should it be stocked with (apart from the obvious like fluids, spares for wear parts, etc) ?

28 foot enclosed seems to be the most popular. which needs a 2500 pickup

Besides the obvious as you mention
low profil jack,
jack stands ( 4)

wood blocks and boards ( 2"x12"x24" )
mini- trailer ramp, to drive a trailer wheel up onto to change the trailers flat tire.
2 spare trailer tires.
Cordless impact wrench, sockets for your car and trailer lug nuts.
extra lug nuts for both

There is a good start

Proper load distribution hitch and trailer brake controller for the pickup. Get the biggest motor available in the truck !

5KW Electrical Generator

A real Compressor

Tire racks in trailer for your spare tires. Winch to pull car into trailer, really a good thing to have if the car breaks.

Air tools to go along with the compressor.

Depending on how deep you dive into the sport you may want to have alignment tools along.

Insulated trailer to keep it from getting too hot inside on those 95+ days. Maybe AC unit on trailer.

All of the previous stuff is good but you also need stop watch (s), timing sheets that have room for lap times, air pressure hot and cold, tire temps, track temp, air temp, track location and date of the event. The toe alignment stuff is only $61 at Longacre but the camber unit is a little more but every bit as important. You also need tie down straps, we prefer the secondard strap thru the wheels, if you have room. We prefer the cargo bars that go across the rear of the trailer and hook into E track on each side. They are cheap, easily removable and definitely strong. We also carry a used gold cart with an aluminum box on the rear to haul gas cans, you need two of those, and tires back and forth from the Goodyear truck. We are somewhat more serious about this than the average guy and we have $7500 JRZ shocks on the car so we also carry small Nitrogen bottle with an accurate gage. In the alst three trailers we have never had a winch as there is always someone to help you put the car inside the trailer even if its 2 feet shorter than when you brought it. Our trailers has upper and lower cabinets which carry a lot of stuff like radios, alignment stuff, boxes of spares, fluids like Oil, power steering, trans, etc. Its also handy to have the stainless steel countertop. Our current trailer also has two belly boxes in front of the axels for jack, jack stands, weights for the tent, and a spare radiator and rubber boots for when it rains. Be sure to put those two trailer spare tires in the truck because if you blow a trailer tire you don't want to have to back the race car out of the trailer just to get to the tires. Been there, done that. You will develop a list of things to take as you go along, but you need about every tool you can think of inclding a hack saw. The one great thing about a box trailer is that you don't have to unload all your stuff between race weekends. Good luck.

Boy was that a loaded question.

JB Weld, ZIP TIES.

Soon enough you will have more junk then the wt of the car.

Broom ?

We red necks keep the gravel IN the trailer, take it home and fill the pot holes in our driveways.

Alot depends on how intense you are about getting every minute of track time you pay for. If something breaks on Saturday, will you spend all night thrashing on the car in the paddock to get back on track Sunday morning? If so, bring lots of spare parts/fluids, every tool you own, and plenty of zip ties and duct tape. If you will say f it and load it on the trailer, then you don't need to bring much.

I'm thinking I'll need a fairly decent size trailer as I'll be looking to fix whatever breaks during the event asap. I'm guessing for serious racing I'd need atleast one of every major part spare along with a zillion of the minor stuff?

Default Ain't spending other people's money fun?

A Volvo air-ride tractor with 500 HP Detroit 60 Series, Allison World Class 6-speed auto, pulling a custom slide out 53' x 102" Featherlite with EIDE Grand Sport canopy should suffice. But, you could sell the house and go full-time if you throw in a Liberty Prevost H3-45. Yeah, you could say I've given this a little thought since when...

Seriously, in addition to cubic dollars, as for racing oriented tools and equipment needs, browsing the following resources might help you compile a thorough Christmas wishlist...

Seat time and more seat time.

You will find it takes almost a weekend to prepear ( you car and stock trailer) for the weekend at the track.
