Thanks to all our Veterans, past and present
I want to take a moment to thank all the men and women who have or are currently serving in our country's armed forces. I and my family appreciate your sacrifices. Gary

We can't thank you enough for those who have served and those who are currently serving. Thank you for all that you do to keep us safe and free.

Thanks sounds so irrelevant
Heard this on the radio this morning:
"Veteran: Any person who has written a blank check to the President of the United States, payable in the amount up to, and including, their life."
Thanks so much for your service, to all veterans.
This is the video that choked me up this year:

Have a good one,
Mike

Regardless of the day, every time I see a veteran with some badge or hat signifying his service, I always grasp his hand and thank him for his service. Most are usually WW2 vets who are stumbling through life, as the elderly often do. And every time I do that, I see a smile burst on their face, and it makes my day.
As I was passing through the bait shop this morning, 2 80'ish year olds were buying some minnows for their daily fishing excursion. One had on a Destroyer Escort hat and the other was just smiling and waiting on his buddy to get the minnows.
I immediately went to the Destroyer Escort guy, grabbed his hand and thanked him for his service. He described a little about his service.
Then he said his buddy was also a WW2 vet. I shook his hand, thanked him and asked about his service. He said he was a Marine (there are no ex-Marines) who was in the invasion of Okinawa. WOW! He said those were some tough, unforgettable times, but they slogged through it. Still smiling and thankful for everyday. What a guy!
Both were true heroes amongst many from that time.
Anyway, that was a generation that is set apart from the rest of us. They did what was necessary, and didn't complain. They returned and built a country we can all be proud of, and, hopefully, hang on to.
Salute to those brave Americans! ...and to those who serve today!

You're welcome. USN, 1976 to 1982, which luckily was a major-combat-free period.
I also thank all of our veterans, and especially those who had to experience combat.
There is no greater honor than to give/risk your life to save another.
