Are upgraded tunnel plates useful on a C5Z? Will the increased rigidity be possible to appreciate without upgraded control arm bushings.
There are two thicknesses available 1/4 and 3/8" in aluminum. Is there a much greater benefit with the thicker plate. Is it worth the extra weight?

I added it just for the heat shielding. The 3/8" ceramic coated is very effective. My car is caged, so I really did not notice any chassis stiffening going on.

I have the coated 3/8 but can't tell any difference in stiffness or heat reduction.

They work for heat deflection. never noticed any faster lap times. You could probably make better gains else where with your coin.

Thanks for your input, everyone. It seems that the tunnel plate makes little (if any) difference to the chassis stiffness.
