Chevy drops the ball again Ford Reveals 302s for it's racers
No surprise here Chevy drops the ball again and does not show any interest in it's racers, ford on the other hand is now releasing yet another track version of the mustang for them!

Yes. GM/Chevy have said the Z06X is a concept vehicle. Most of the parts used in the conversion are supposed to become available via GMPP but the official word is you will not be able to just buy a Z06X pre-assembled and happily delivered from the factory.

Because they needed something flashy for SEMA. Ford and Dodge are offering complete cars from the factory to their racers... don't get me wrong, I'm happy Chevy did the Z06X and SSX, but there's a big difference between producing a marketing vehicle and delivering a product...

I wonder if perhaps Corvette is making too many choices already and need to go with a good street and a good track version with maybe only the ZR1 as a third high end? How many different versions of the 2011 are there? Over a half dozen already?

Judging by the fact that the ZR-1 is outselling the Z06, I would say GM is really passing up good money by not making a racing car. They could make and sell a spec C6 or even Z06 race car for 100-150k and enthusiasts and race teams both would buy them up.
There IS a reason they are run by the Gov.

Pricing is set at $79,000, identical to the FR500S, and just 50 will be available from the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog.

I think at PRI somebody said ~3600 lbs for the car. It's a heavy pig.
Probably a nice "AI" car but $80k to go play in AI???? (not even AIX?)
