I said -serious- threat. That's different from occasional threat.
Why did he "have" to? I find that hard to believe. Given that a win was in hand what possible reason would LG have for backing off? If you are referring to this thread (and specifically post #8) then big time:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ld-thread.html
This is, however, 100% beside the point of this thread which was the ALMS media package, how people feel about it, and (IMO) why the fans shouldn't be so hard on them about it.

Problems with connecting to ALMS coverage...connecting to video has to be easier than it has been....
What others have experienced...
http://http://www.americanlemansfans...art=360#p48660
Where I went to get connected....
http://http://www.americanlemansfans...php?f=9&t=2361
From the foregoing, it should be apparent that I (and from the http://www.americanlemansfan.com Forums, I am sure others) am having some difficulty knowing where and when what parts (live qualifying, pre-race commentary, live race, post-race commentary, complete hi-lites, short hi-lites) am having difficulty determining from ALMS website who is carrying what and when.

LIVE qualifying and LIVE flag-to-flag race coverage is ONLY available from ESPN3 (in the US) or the ALMS website (outside the US)
Edited "docudrama" replays of the races only will be broadcast on either ABC or ESPN2 as shown on the ALMS calendar:

pretty simple to me

Scott Atherton guaranteed more coverage, all races, all live, and I think he said commercial free but I could be wrong on that part.
He further stated if you could not watch it on espn3.com (due to not having an isp which carries it, and do not suggest switching, not everyone has a number of isps to choose from) then we could just watch it from americanlemans.com. We have found that is wrong too.
If you have espn3 you are good to go, great for you. That is a limited number of you though.
If you are not in the US, again, good for you, because you can get a feed as well.
If you are in the US, do not have espn3 you are screwed.
How does this help expand viewers? How does this expand the fan base? How does this help the series?
If you are HONEST, you will say it does not help in anyway. I really love ALMS, but if I cannot watch it, it is hard to be a fan. Difficult for people to get into the racing if they cannot access it too.
If ALMS does not fix this MAJOR problem, this could kill the series. No, I am not being alarmists, just stating facts.

two hours in and Patrick Long dive bombed Magnusson in 04 car. Both spun out but the 04 was slightly damaged, repaired and back on track now. Ferrari got collected in spin out and heavily damaged. I hate it for Long and Magnusson. Rode with Long here at Nashville 2 weeks ago in the rain with Porsche event. Nice young, approachable fellow that showed me a tip or two on wet driving. He was just a tad aggressive on that pass since he did not have the apex and the 04 vette owned it.

I can not get live TV coverage in any shape or form. My ISP doesn't support ESPN3.com. There are no other ISPs in my area to switch to. How can I be a fan of a series that I can never see?

Well, for whatever reason, ESPN3 works on my computer not connected to any TV.
Sound is so/so but video is good on about 11 in. window on my monitor. Better
than nothing .....

What kills me is that I've resorted to listening to the audio on radio lemans. I just heard Atherton talking about how great the espn3 coverage is and if you don't get espn3 to call your ISP and demand it. Yeah, right...

I have comcast and the coverage has worked perfect, no commercials have it pluged into my big screen sound though the surround best coverage I seen of a race. I do agree with with the criticisms of corvette racing and Michelin though.
