Interesting thread, and the brakes look nice!

From a cost standpoint, the wheels and brakes probably cost more than the value of the car!

I would like see how those brakes hold up on track.

Scotty,

Thanks for your comment.

One More Post:

Yesterday I had the alignment checked and set on the Z after the brake installation. Caster was perfect, Chamber need a tweak, and Toe was way off in the front. This was expected due to the change to the C6 knuckle, with its shorter steering arm. Vince at Cauley Performance Automotive set everything straight.

Then, I went out and did my brake burnishing. 51 stops in a row from 60 mph. After stop 17, the pedal began to feel spongy. The burnishing instructions state that this is normal during the process. From stop 40 on, dark grey smoke would billow from the wheel wells. I suspect that the pads were actually burning at their interface with the rotor.

After the 51st stop, I proceeded the 10 miles home without any significant brake application. This was the cooling step called for in the burnishing procedure. Once I pulled into my garage, the pedal was high and very hard. Prior to the burnishing the pads felt slightly mushy. That mushiness is completely gone. Today I will rebleed the system and top it off will Wilwood 600 Plus brake fluid.

I have a track day scheduled at Waterford Road Race Course on next Friday.

Those brakes look amazing!!!

But what I really want to know is who's splitter is that on your Tigershark nose?? I think I'm at the limit for what I can do with my factory nose for cooling/airflow and thinking of taking the plunge and getting the tigershark.

The following is a list of the GM parts that make up the system. Add to this the cost of powder coating the calipers - $430, and the stainless steel brake hoses - $215:

Damn I know the braking power is amazing though. I don't see why you couldnt find standard rotors in 15"? I already found some 2 piece ones but need too find the part for C5's

Other than that that much for calipers is cheap. Btw these 15" ones were only $2xx a piece

The braking power is not going to be any more 'amazing' than stock. You would get more longevity. This is a 'pimp my ride' modification.

It is a cool system though, and credit to the OP for putting it together.

How much do your cheap 15-inch iron rotors weigh?

I'll check on that
I think they were stoptechs 380mm 2 piece rotors. I'll check
But you said ZR1 rotors are 15.4 actually
