Default I just got back from testing Michelin Pilot Super Sports at PBIR

I was forced to test Monday and Tuesday.
Here are a few of the drivers I was coached (forced to go faster) by in a LEXUS IS F

Roland Linder
Didier Theys
Tania Bourbonnais
Ed (got get the spelling right)

I was both a passenger & Driver.
A little info on the car:

416HP/371TQ Eight-speed Sport Direct-Shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters, Manual mode and torque converter lock-up clutch for gears 2-8
3,780lbs

Roland & I went out and flogged it hard both days............

More info & pics when I get the time
Steve

Did you have an opportunity to ask Michelin when they are going to make the Pilot Super Sport tires in Corvette sizes?

From looking at what is posted at Tire Rack, Michelin has focused primarily on European and Asian cars and left Corvettes without a new set of shoes!

TRUST ME.................I poked them in the eyes like Mo does to Larry and they swear all the OEM sizes will be out within a few months..........
The base C6 could be covered now IMHO using a 245/40ZR18 and a 275 vs 285 OEM.
Z06/GS front is covered 275/35ZR18 but the back........ 305 vs 325OEM
Base C5s 235 vs 245 OEM and a 265 vs 275 OEM
Z06 C5 245 vs 265 OEM and a 285 vs 295 OEM

They do exist

For a base C6, I will run the SS's in

255/35/18

295/30/19

Same as I run with R888's on 08 stock split spokes

I ordered a set that i will install next week after I finish of my 888's at Spring Mtn this weekend with the Cal Coast Corvette Challenge.

Take a read of this if you haven't already:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...-in-dubai.html

The only thing I can add is this time we autocrossed.........my heavy 97' vette pushes a little during autoxing on street tires........these tires will make it stick vs a push/slide. More pics & info to follow

I know it makes it tough for many folks but yous guys know how challenging it can be to get the track rented for Sat & Sund.
I am flying into San Diego to see family and driving up the Pacific Coast Hwy to the Event.

DH...........maybe you will have an eye problem at work for a few hours and have to come to the track

Maybe I can take him for a few hot laps..............the Pro drivers that take us out drive near the limit. Very impressive drivers as they are both young and old.
There will be plenty o pics/video

Ed is a puppy, go easy on him

I am trying to get him to adopt me so I can go to every freakin track event that is within 500 miles of us (he lives 10 minutes from me) like he has since I met him

*** PM me your address and size and I will send you 2011 Corvette Challenge shirt ***

I recently put a set of the SSs on my 08 coupe. I mounted them on my Gumby's. 275/35ZR18s in front and 305/30ZR19s on the rear. I was worried that they wouldn't fit right but they turned out perfect. I've got LG longtubes, NPPs, Vararam and a tune. It puts down 424/422 on Tom Wongs mustang dyno. The stock Goodyears would easily break loose and now the Michelins can take allmost all the power. Handling, braking and overall manners in general are vastly improved. All this and the prices are lower than the PS2s. It's hard to pass up the Michelins now that the prices have been lowered. I'm heading to the Oregon coast this next weekend to really enjoy them.
