Default Calabogie Motorsports Park

Has anyone put in a few laps at Calabogie Motorsports Park? I'd be interested to know what times everyone was running with their setup. I've been on the track 3 times and it's quite a good track to run and with a few events coming up I'd love to hear others comments.

I have run there four years in a row; it's the nicest track I have been to but the drive is a bit rough.

Last year, our buddy was running his Panoz school car (2600 lbs and 350HP LS engine) turning laps right around 2:20. One of the owners said he was able to turn a 2:16 in their race prepped Mustang. Of course, the Daytona Prototype car that was testing last year ran a 1:50 the day after it was finished and a day before they had to deliver the car.

Here is some video from 2009 looking backwards from my track car (2400 lbs, automatic not shifting properly, and roughly 360 HP).

Just screwing around there with 3Balls last August: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jp3AvKLim8 Video has data overlay, lap times, and brief car description. COMSCC.org track records for stock Corvettes in the 2:23s.

Wicked fun track!

Great information guys, thanks. I'll be on the track next week, and maybe the weekend so I'm looking forward to making some improvements

It's a 2006 F55 LS2 base coupe with Penske coil overs.

My best time there with my '02 Z28 was a 2:23. I went with my 'Vette last September, but it rained the whole day, so my quickest lap (semi-damp / semi-dry) was only a 2:37.

Based on my non-scientific experience, I would equate a 2:20 at Calabogie to about a 1:35 at Mosport .

Calabogie is absolutely a favourite of mine. I love the condition of the track surface (still only ~5 years new) and all the blind corners and elevation change. Comparing it to Mosport, which is a 2.5 mile track with 10 turns, Calabogie is a 3 mile track with 20 turns!! So they're really not the same at all, but they do have similarities.

Also, for top speed, where you might see ~220+ km/h at Mosport, you'll probably only see a shade over 200 km/h at Calabogie.

Wow great times guys, I'm no pro lapper and won't be coming close a 2:23 but I would be happy with 2:30's or maybe a bit better. I think that's a reasonable goal given my car is pretty modded.

I'll be participating in a Gentlemens Race series - First Race is this coming Thursday - so with if I could turn those lap times I think that would seal the deal for me:
