NCCC Corvette Convention at Autobahn Pictures/Story Inside
This years convention was held in Tinley Park, Il. The week started off with the Concourse/Car show and I displayed the old 87 Red Racer. Just turned 12,000 miles while I was there.
There were Rallyes and other events going on as well to start off. Then we cruised to downtown Tinley Park where we were in a 400 car Corvette convoy with police escort and people lined the streets, pretty cool.
Monday: Was a test day at the Autobahn and it was a little wet for most of the day with the last session 80% dry. This was my first time there and I was running my friends 03 Z06 T1 car, identical to my old one. We ran the whole course first and then the north and south tracks which were fun even in the rain.
Tues: We dragged at route 66 and I did bracket and record drags in the T1 car. I was happy to not red light this year and finished 3rd in class A which I believe had 20 cars give or take. The car did a 12.66 @ 112 MPH with stock LS6, Stock manifolds, cats and no mufflers with 372 RWHP. Not bad!
Wed: Was the high and low speed events, group 1 cars were running the south track high speed and group 2 & 3 were running low speed on the pyloned down North track.
Thursday: We switched sides and rain was on and off. The south track was set up like this for the TT run.
The start lights were in pit row at the same location as the front straight start finish. We did a standing start bonzi out of pit lane and into turn one on COLD tires. Continue to run one full lap and trip the lights at the regular start/finish line, Proceed 80% to and kinda cool down 2nd lap to pull into pit in.
I ran a 1:37.1 in the T1 car which was a blast BTW, a big thank you to my friend John for letting me take his car for the week. (I needed that)
Some members Dave and Linda Goebel from Tenn Corvette club area bought Heinrockets/Phoenix's white C6 T1 car and ran very fast in it. Nice car and they were having a blast.
Dale and Carolynn Samuelson were smoking fast too in there C5 red
Z06. Great to see you guys!
Not sure what a good lap time would be for a C5 T1 car, but I figured if I was running multiple flyling laps and had some heat in the tires a 1:32 or so would be sufficient I would think?
Friday: Morning was awards for the weeks events and then the evening was the banquet and 2011 GS Coupe raffle give away car. I was really hoping to win it so I could bring it home and start gutting it for the new T1/ST2 car but that didnt happen.
Also, a big thank you to Mike Newlander (Shorthrow) for inviting us over for lunch at his awesome mancave and giving me some tips for the track. What a great person you are Mike!
Here are some random pictures from the week, if anyone has more feel free to post them here to share.
Lots of fun hanging with my second family for the week. I hope to get back there some day and run a NASA race in something.

Hey Aaron-
Glad to see you getting out there and having fun!
Do you happen to know if the folks that bought the Phoenix / Heinricy white / blue GS are going to race in T1?

Maybe they will change their mind down the road, cause that is too good a car to not be in T1.

Congrats Aaron on FTD for both High and Low speed events. (My what good looking numbers you have!)
What no pictures of my ugly car? You have George's up there! And I even had Kumho decals on the car!!!
Unfortunately I never took any pictures, but I will have videos up in the next couple of days of my best runs. It's taking about an hour and 15 min to upload a file to Youtube.

Thanks to Kumho Tires for Sponsoring the "High-Speed" autocross portion. I enjoyed it immensely!!! Even did a little "landscaping" of my own at the end of the long straight on the South course.....gotta find your braking point somehow? Autobahn CC Rocks!
