Default CCW wheel bolts' torque setting...

Anyone know what the torque for the bolts holding the center to the ring should be?

Seems like I remember 22#'s, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for posting that. I just found a couple of cracks in several spokes on my Classics so I'm about to replace the center section.

Did you use all new nuts/bolts or reuse existing hardware?

I'm just checking the existing bolts in the 2 sets of CCW wheels I have.

I would use the old bolts.

They use Nylock nuts on them so Locktite probably isn't necessary. At least on mine, I haven't seen them loosen up yet:

Nasty crack, good job inspecting. How old are they?

Where can you buy those nuts/bolts? I have them on my classics, I just recently purchased them from another corvette owner and I tried to clean them up but I'd like an option to buy them. What are they called? etc.

I had quite a few of my Classic centers fail that way. I would always first hear a clicking sound coming from the wheels when I would turn but only when hot. I had two sets that had to have the centers replaced twice. The wheel centers lasted about 4 years each time. CCW covered all centers under warranty, but these are the only wheels I have had fail in 30 years of autocrossing. If you had one fail I would replace all. Clean them up really good and check inside and out with a light. You my find other small fractures that you didn't notice yet.

Be ware of where you get the bolts. I ordered them locally (grade 8) and had some of them fail while torqueing. I ordered them from CCW and had no problem.

Thank you, I will look to CCW to get bolts. I could not find them on their site.
