Track Insurance?? any recommendations
I take my car to the track (road course) maybe 5 times a year...any insurance companies that are recommended???
I don't race for money or time (timed event) I just run the car on the track at the autobahn or gingerman raceway for fun.....
Thanks for the help...

www.ontrackinsurance.com - never tested it with a claim but so far so good, plus they are helpful, I cancelled due to rain the day of an event and got to use it at a future event.

Check Locton Affinity, they write DE insurance if the event meets their requirements. We always have the NCM run events certified by them. I can't say anything about how good the coverage is or the cost but it's the only one I know of currently

I've used them for the last 5 HPDE events.

Be sure to understand the policy terms with regards to being insurable after you have had a claim. Most have lockout periods of as much as 2 years where you can not be insured.
So while you may get your damage paid for you will be at risk for your next events.

Wow $200 for $30,000 , I think that is reasonable even with the lockout , if 30k is gonna put you back commuting to work on mass transit. If I had that coverage I'd probably have turned some faster laps. For us amateurs, the lack of coverage is a decent safety net keeping you at 9/10ths. If you've never spun your car on the track, go to racing school and spin someone elses a bunch of times. There aren't many track days where someone doesn't crease something. Don't really care to know any stats, but it's enough to warrant all the safety equiptment you can afford.

Lockton has 10% - 33% surcharges on many tracks so don't go by the "quick" estimate on their site. Go thru the app process to get the actual cost. You will get the cost before have to commit. They also require amount to be at least 90% of book value.
