Default NAPA Rotor Pricing

Gah! So the $25/corner prices went to $30 then $35... I just got told rear rotors are now $51ea. I need spares for Friday so it is what it is, but at that price "disposable" NAPAs are getting to be not worthwhile and a good 2-piece is really looking way more attractive...

Picked front and rears from this post a few months ago for 124.99 delivered. Not sure how they'll hold up since my next event is Sept but for the price I felt they're worth a try.

Price goes up as they transfered production from Canada to China. So now they cost 2x more and last 1/3 as long.

Check the major auction site. There is a vendor there (Brakelabs from Calif) that is offering a complete set for $141 shipped. I got a set several weeks ago and they are definitely good quality. Can't tell where they were made, but the machining is nice, friction surfaces are full thickness and vanes are directional like OEM. Ran them hard at VIR last weekend. They look like they will hold up fine, worth investigating.

Complete set from NAPA appears to be $242 right now. Something is crazy here but I won't know until tomorrow morning. I'm stuck because I have no spares and don't want to go without any so I'll suck it up, but I think I see better rotors in my future given these prices now. A far cry from the old $25ea... killing me...

This is the best deal around. Anyone still running the stock c5 rotors should buy a set or 2 of these.

I'm assuming you've used them with success?

Not yet, I stocked up on a bunch of Rock Auto rotors back in January, but as soon as those are depleted, I'll get some of the ones advertised in that forum thread. Hell, they can't be any worse than Rocks or NAPA's.

I have tested the $124.99 rotors. Not enough to make a final conclusion yet, but I'll give my thoughts in that thread.

Hell, if they hung in there for a weekend and didn't explode or fall apart, that's enough evidence for me.

I don't expect these things to last much longer than that.

Well, it wasn't a full weekend since my engine died, and most of the first day was under wet/low grip conditions. So in my opinion still not conclusive. Some weird pitting of the metal was found. I have pictures and will post ASAP.

Get Centric Premium's from K&S brakes or TireRack. Cost is far less than what you are quoting. These last far longer than the OE (brazil) rotors--double the time. I don't know the NAPA quality but I doubt it exceeds the CP rotors.

Agreed. If I had the time I would have shopped around. I only just managed to move a work trip a couple of days and get the car in for a quick service and I was relying on "knowing" somebody local had rotors I could grab for spares. When you have time to plan ahead you can deal with these issues. :-)

Hmm. I understand those to be dusty/easy on rotors. Hawk DTC70s literally rip the face off the rotors, but no pitting. Any pics?
