Default question for those of you with laid down radiators

I've got my mounting of the radiator sorted, just have some question about hose routing.

1. What angle tube did you use coming off the throttle body to have the intake end up under the headlight cover?

2. What did you do (and where did you get parts) for the radiator hoses? I figure I can make do with angled bits from what I have, but was hoping to use a long straight aluminum tube for the upper rad hose. Can't seem to find one online.

I had a local shop make us a custom intake - they are sort of an import shop so they do a lot of turbo work, but really it was a short piece of silicone hose an aluminum 90 degree going to the MAF another piece of strait aluminum another piece of silicone hose and a filter. That being said I was really happy with the work they did.

As far as the cooling sruff you should be able to find anything you need here.

I think the intake tubing came from Spectre.. The piece from the filter has a 30* bend if I recall.. Just cked and it is a 45* bend

Welded tabs to rad and slotted tabs on frame with lord mounts. Loosen nuts and rad pops right out..

Is that the regular radiator or a custom fit one?

Do you use a fan?

looks sweet.

I'm doing it for the prospect of better cooling, and also a much more open engine bay.

regular c5 Ron Davis with mount tabs welded on
I have not run a fan for 2 years. Gets tricky on grid but once you are moving no problem.
When the weather is cold I preheat the oil tank for less warm up time because cooling water gets hot faster than 3 gallons of oil.

Wally, will it be ready for VIR next week?

I haven't made up my mind yet whether to enter or not. I guess I'll wait unti the last possible moment.

Question.... why not just do this? Or similar where the filter/MAF is just on the end of the TB. I'd think that at speed the air flow would negate higher intake temps?

Entrants list is up... Wally's signed up as are 4 other ST2 folks. Last I talked to Ryan he's going too, but not signed up yet. My father will be running HPDE 3... got the last open spot

Scott, I think the biggest benefit is easy cleaning of the radiator. Even if fans are installed, it would be a easy to flush out the radiator with a water hose.

Super easy to get at everything in the front of the engine too. Plus if you have a vented hood it shold cool better.

It seems like a more effective way to force the air from a front-feeding setup through the radiator and out through a louvered hood both improving cooling and downforce. Here are some pics of my setup when I bought the car. I'm running a stock LS6 now. Air filter gets cool air from the ds front screen and the oil cooler gets cool air from the ps front screen.
