Having been in a wreck once myself, all I can say is that I actually "felt it" when you came in contact with the BMW. Seems like the standard "both feet in" would have applied in this case and saved both of you injury to yourselves and your bank accounts.
I almost had that happen with a Porsche in a race back in August.
Glad you are okay and good luck with the re-build.
(Racing can be a bitch sometimes...)

I helped push the BMW into the Fall Line Trailer and the car is a tub car and the hit looked like it was at the rear of the drivers door. It bent the bottom of the tub so that the left rear wheel is about 6 to 7" toward the other side of the car. The top was cut off as were the drivers door bars to get the driver out. It is an expensive total.
Jerry's car had a lot more damage under the front bumper assembly. I don't know if it got the frame but it wouldn't suprise me if part of the frame is bent on both sides. He hit very square on the BMW. The best thing the BMW driver could have done was keep his brakes on and give other drivers a chance to try and miss him. I think he had some red mist as the race had just started and he was busy with Dave Pintaric who was all over him on the straights and braking into the corners.

The car is pretty messed up. The frame will have to be replaced from the doors forward. The Bellhousing was crushed as well as the subframe. New radiator, oil cooler ,water pump, lots of body parts. I'll have to have the motor checked as well since the steering rack was smashed into the Balancer. Lots of money and time. Joe's car is totaled and will have to start with a new tub.
