Default Length of straightaways at Road America?

I once found this info online with a search, but can't seem to find it anywhere today. Anyone know the length of the front straight, and also the length of the straight leading to T5? I am interested in comparing them to the front straight at Miller which is supposed to be 3500', and apparently the longest straight in the US is at Spokane, 9/10 of a mile?

Thanks Buddy! Hmmm, so from the exit of the Carousel to the entrance of Canada Corner is ~ 4000' according to Google Earth. Guess that means one should be flat the whole way since they obviously consider it a "straight".

Yeah but the whole "don't lift at the kink" business is too spooky for me... a tap on the brakes before getting back on the gas leaves me feeling better about having a car to drive home... U bringing the Mosler on a field trip Everett? That thing has enough power to turn back time on a track like RA.

OK, I just "measured" the length of the front straight with Google Earth - looks like it is ~ 4200'. (I did not include much if any of the corner radii in the distance measurement). Had never measured distance with GE until today.

And Noel, I will leave the no-lift in the Kink up to Mike....

Everett according to my RA Tee-shirt, the pit straight is 4405 feet long (uphill). That's 1380 to the Kohler bridge, and 3025 on to turn one.

Please NOTE that on-board video of NASCAR shows slightly HIGHER speeds on the slightly shorter downhill straight to turn 5. At the KIC, I noticed that all SANE competitors were braking BEFORE the first shutoff marker for turn 5. The "kink" and Canada are for you to decide

Brainerd International is about 5000' on main straight. Known for years as the longest straight in North America followed by the fastest turn (22 degree banked sweeper).

The banked sweeper (turn 1) is banked about the same as the tri-oval at Daytona.

Garrett - I too was braking before the 5 marker heading down into turn 5. That part of the track had the largest pucker factor for me and I was carrying some pretty big speed there for sure. I set my dash recall before each session and it indicated 158. I initially assumed that was on the front straight - now I am not so sure, it might have been on the straight heading into 5 instead.

Fastest corner I have ever gone into was Charlotte motor speedway NASCAR Turn 3.

Think I went into that once at 150 mph Chit, that was scary. the straights are banked 18* and the turns are banked 28*. all you see in front of you is the asphalt of the turn. Too look DOWN the track you have to look UP near the A-piller of the windshield, or out the drives side window.

after doing that a few times, I have a LOT OF RESPECT for the NASCAR boyz who go through there THREE WIDE AT 180MPH.

That has to be quite an experience, getting on a banked oval.
