Default Daytona HPDE checklist update - input

Doing the Hooked on Driving Daytona HPDE next Fri and Sat. Anything extra to add or do before going? I have new rotors for front with new XP12s, new oil, bought 2 more wheels to mount extra set of R80s on just in case, BFG KDWs street tires in case it rains and of course redoing my oil cooler lines. • Contact paper w/scissorsWindshield cleaner

• Spare parts:
o Serpentine belt
o Brake pads
o Rotors (front & rear)
o Caliper bolts and caliper bracket bolts and caliper pins

I have the 200 asst zipties from HF. 1 8g sd card. If it is anything like Charlotte, then I'll haul *** down the straights, stand on the brakes before hitting the turns.

Waddisme, we are gonna have FUN!!! I'll see you there!!!

Did you go for a garage?

I know it's expensive, but it's very nice to pull in out of the sun and sit in the shade next to the car, plug in your computer or charge your video camera, and just relax. If you don't have a garage, feel free to find me to charge cameras, etc.

The main reason I asked is that you mentioned a tent, ground tarp, etc.

There isn't anywhere in the paddock area that I can think where you can stake down a tent - it's all paved. So if your tent isn't free standing, maybe you can use those spare rotors to hold it in place!!

It was 82* today, and forecast to be about 78 to 80 through this weekend for the Turkey Run. The extended forecast only goes up through a couple days before the event, but shows that it should be cooling down to highs around 70 to 72 with good weather - hopefully that will hold through the event!!

C'ya at the track!!!

Bob

Only good thing about ricers and HPDEs - they usually have some hot chicks with them.

If you are putting on new rotors, get some heat into them before you get to the track (with the XP12s on the car, and don't use street pads before the event) - either do ~10 hard stops from 80 or so or drive with your foot on the brake and gas. Do a few hard stops on your outlap (offline) or the gas/brake thing to clean off uneven buildup.

Don't forget to drink a lot of water.
Bring: Brake piston compressors, numbers

If it is your first time at the track, watch all the vid you can. After a while, practice brake/gas/shifting/steering. It is lame, but it works. Your brain can't tell the difference and you'll be 80% there by the time you show up (IME), and confident.

I will bed them per Carbotechs before I load on trailer. I was thinking about doing the first couple of sessions on my BFG (Y rated) street tires to make sure my R80 scrubs will make it thru the weekend. Will be watching a lot of videos. I like the idea of mentally driving and shifting along with videos. Thanks.

I hope to see you there Bob, and may even run into you at the Turkey run this week.

I won't be entered for this one, but hopefully next time.

Default Daytona

I will be there too. I will have a red LS powered Panoz there. Look for a black hauler behind a black Avalanche. Look me up if anyone needs help with anything. Glad to help!

You will leave the weekend with a big smile on your face!

See you there!

Don
