Default Can a harness be re-certified? Where? (Sparco/Schroth)

I have a set of Sparco/Schroth harnesses that expire end of this year. They are in perfectly good shape. Can I get them re-certified? Where? What would the approximate cost be?

or

Should I go ahead and buy new? I'd really like belts with pull-up lap adjusters.

Very interesting question. I have never heard of recertifying belts. That may not be doable because of the effect of sun light on the material. From a cost perspective, it may not be worthwhile due to shipping + a certification fee.

I had my Crow harness re-certified last spring. They reused the hardware and replaced the webbing. I doubt if anyone would re-certify without replacing the webbing.
Crow will only do their own harnesses.

The webbing deteriorates with age, and especially exposure to sunlight. Just like the plastic parts under the hood get brittle with age and exposure to heat, so does the webbing on your belts. They may look perfect, but chemically/structurally they've changed.

How much cheaper was that than just buying new belts?

10-4... figured since the car is garaged/covered most of the time they'd have little UV exposure.

I just had my Team Tech Jet Pilot Harness re-certified. I sent it back to them, as said above they reuse the hardware but all of the webbing was replaced. Plus they charge extra to taper down the shoulder harness to 2 inches wide where the hans is. I only saved about $50.00 recertifying great service though turned it around to me in 10 days

Since only hardware is reused savings are limited to that. I need a better harness for the Hans also. I have probably 5 sets of expired belts. Need to toss them I guess.

Do not the belts stretch each time you tighten them ?

Sell them to Mustang racers. How good do your belts have to be to sit on the side of the track and wait for a tow?

Crow charges $50 to re-web. The also have FIA taper harnesses for a good price. I used them in a customers car recently.

When one died and sat the rest of the session on the backstraight in DE, my student couldn't figure out why I kept laughing.
