Default Cheap Used Racing Seats.. anyone know where to find them??

Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a racing seat for HPDE next year, but I'm not in the market to spend $700+... I heard somewhere that seats go out-of-spec often and you can buy old ones cheap. Does anyone know where to find these?? Thanks for your help!

I have a used aluminum one in storage and would like to sell it. Will get specifics and post later today.

Here is what I have:

Ultrashield aluminum racing seat with black snap in cover; cover needs cleaning; no identifying model #; $80 plus shipping from 27612

Sparco FIA 8855-1992, Monte Carlo 1995, CS 611 94 with blue cloth cover which needs replacing; condition of seat is good; $25 plus shipping from 27612.

You might want to state what size you're looking for or post examples of seats you feel comfortable in, e.g., Sparco Evo 2 vs. Evo 2 Plus.

This will be my first time but the Evo 2 seems to be the right fit from what I've read. I'm 6' 2" 220lbs with a 36" waist

Ebay has slim pickings....but I found this Sparco Pro 2000 for a lot less than $700 if it fits.

ehhh, I'd probably opt for an evo 2 plus (I have one). I'm 6'2" ~210, and the plus gives me the height I need. Its a little big in the hip area, but its worth it for the extra height.

I got my Butler aluminum seat from a dirt tracker down in Charlotte for a song off there. It only had right side supports so I just had to add the left side headrest and it was ready to go. Love it.

look at Sparco Sprint. It is cheap new (as is uses steel frame). It is still lighter than OEM and can be bought for like $350 new and looks great and is super functional.

Do you know which FX1 it is? They made the FX1 Pro, FX1 and FX1 wide. Do you have pics? Thanks!

Thanks, I remember reading at one point an article that compared the weights of all of these seats. I'll have to find it and check it out

Aluminum road race seats can be purchased in the $350 range brand new. The problem with them or any other seat is the cost of mounting H/W. Research your mounting options before plunging for any seat based on price alone. Figure that you will have to buy two of everything since most HPDEs require equal seating/restraints for any passenger whether that passenger is an instructor or another student.

See if you can find a local fabricator that can make you custom seat mounts so you can get your seat installed at the 'right' angle, distance and height for you behind the wheel.

I know a guy in my local Mustang club - in Alexandria, VA - that's selling a set of NEW race seats that you might be interested in:

Have 2 new unused never driven in corbeau seats for sale. Both black cloth FX1 Pro style. Never sat in sunlight. Have been covered and stored out of the elements. Parting out a project and would like to see these go. Get these at a steal.

$400

Let me know if you can't see his sales information, and I'll help you connect with him to checkout the seats.
