LOVE your trailer!
Is that homemade? if so, what base did you start with? if not, where did you buy it? I'm having trouble finding a short ( < 6 ft) trailer that is 48" wide.

I bought the small wheel version then found the tallest 4 lug wheel/tire combo I could. I then extended the tongue out about 2 feet. It rode rock steady behind the Miata, even at 85mph+ (turbo car before being an ls1 car).

In cali can only drive 55mph with trailer. So hitch based tire rack is super simple to weld up and you can drive full speed limit with only downside of obstructed rear vision but the L and R rear mirrors are fine. The Corvette is so reliable for a whole year racing out outside my state all the supplies I need including extra pads and rotors fit inside the car!

Check out these LED trailer lights from etrailer. They have both square, round, and oval LED light housings and the housings should be a bolt-in. They also have clearance lights and license plate lights in LED so you can replace all of the incandescent lights with LED versions.

For those of you looking to possibly add a trailer to your collection of toys to pull your track tires to the track. I've been looking and researching for several months. The Harbor Freight 40" x 48" gets pretty good reviews across the board with routine high quality bearing grease. I was looking for a 48" wide to give a bit more room but the only 48" wide I found were 6 and 8 feet long. I stumbled across a DYI where a guy took the Harbour Freight 48" x 96" folding and converted it into a more robust 48" x 48" HERE
With Many Corvette trackers using wider tires, I felt like the extra space gave me more options on how best to organize the trailer. Also, using the technique detailed in the post above, the trailer is a bit more stout, which can't hurt. Now the trailer in this project is the 1720 lb capacity trailer. The One on sale is the 1195 lb capacity. it looks as though there may be some slight assembly differences but I won't really know till I get the kit and start messing with it.

I went by Harbor Freight today to ask if these trailers ever go on sale, as luck would have it, March 10, 11 & 12 the 48" x 96" goes on sale for $250, just $15 more than the 40" x 48". Once modified, it remains pretty compact, easy to store in your garage over the winter. The folding trailer package also comes with casters to mount on the end of the trailer so you can roll it around on end, standing up. Whether you use it or not, it comes with.
I hope someone else finds this helpful.
Happy (upcoming) Track season to all! To those of you that have year-round track season, I'm jealous!

For those worried about the cheap Chinese bearings NAPA has most sizes in SKS (Japanese) bearings. They are good quality.

I did this with Amsoil wheel bearing grease when I assembled the trailer. ZERO issues.

I drove from Springfield IL to Atlanta Georgia to pick up this chassis running 75-80 the entire time. Zero issues

My Featherlite 24' enclosed trailer (not exactly the cheapest trailer on the market) had a recall for the bearings in some of their line. I immediately replaced the cheap bearings from China with the ones mentioned above.

I've taken the Harbor Freight 4'x 8' folding trailer and converted it into a 4' x 4' . I hope to get it assembled this week.

Man I just ordered a riding lawn mower from Lowe's that should be in stock in a few weeks. Maybe I should get a HF trailer to bring it home and then start with the modifying to hold wheels and crap for autocross.

Few weeks back I gave my dad my red Riding Mower as a gift for Father's Day. Pulled it over on the 4'x8' behind the C5 The looks people give you are amazing.

I recently did some upgrades to mine. I noticed that one of the hub caps had leaked in water so I took the opportunity to replace the hubs, bearings, and seals with better quality, and I also put trailer buddies on it to make greasing easier. Between that, the lights, and the deck work I've way more into it than the trailer cost originally, but it is now perfect for my needs.

Interested in hearing more about how you are restraining the wheels/tires!

The tire restraint is 2" diameter Hollaender speed rail. It's light weight, strong and easily cut and assembled. I don't weld so this seemed like a good solution for me. I used this stuff at work so I was familiar with it and how easy it is to work with.
