Default IRS Non-profit ruling on clubs sponsering driving events

Is anyone familiar with any recent rulings by the IRS on non-profit clubs sponsoring driving events?

I was recently informed the status of a particular marque club as a non-profit organization (as well as other non-profit car clubs) is apparently under scrutiny by the IRS to make sure that club revenue is generated by “club members,” not by the general public.

They are now requiring all DE participants to be full members of the marque organization to participate in the event.

Actually, to be a member in our club you MUST own a Corvette...it's in the bylaws.

It is a Corvette Club, after all.
