I know a lot of drifters modify their uprights to get more steering angle

I think C4s are awesome drift cars other than steering angle issue. Early C4s with the Z51 rack work the best My last winter beater was an 85 with 200k on it, so 200hp maybe. If you carry enough speed that can drift fine. If you are going to have the steering arm shortened & rewelded make sure your welder knows what he's doing with aluminum. You can also fab up tie rod relocation brackets off the bearing bolts to move rod in. For the guys bashing him for drifting. I don't think a person can really drive a RWD car without knowing how to control power oversteer.
