Default Daytona in Oct with PBOC - date change

If you are already signed up, you probably got notified that they have changed dates of their Daytona event.

However, if you couldn't attend because of the date, it's been changed and maybe you can now fit it into your schedule!!

PBOC was scheduled for later in Oct, but it conflicted with Bike Week, so it's been changed to a week earlier - Oct 12/13/14.

Here's a link to some info and the email and phone contact for the registrar:

C'ya at the track!!

And, if you can't make the event in the post above, there's a PCA event the week prior to that - Oct 5-6-7. Here's info from clubregistration.net:

Event Name Daytona Oktoberfast DE 10/5-7/2012 (Driver's Ed)

Club Florida Citrus Region PCA
Registrar Bertdelvillano@aol.com / 970-406-1703
Location Daytona International Speedway
Event Dates 10/05/12*-*10/07/12
Registration Opens 06/27/12 12:00 AM (members) (central time zone)
06/27/12 (all)
10/03/12 (closes) (12:01am central time zone)
Description REGISTRATION OPENS AT 12:00 AM 6/27.

Florida Citrus and Florida Crown Regions of PCA are sponsoring a DE at the historic and newly repaved Daytona International Speedway on Oct 5-7, 2012. The DE will be held in conjunction with the PCA Club Race. It is open to advanced solo drivers only. You should have driven a minimum of 4 DEs in the Black run group or be a qualified PCA instructor. Please be sure your C.R.Profile is up to date before you register.

You will get lots of track time -- at a great price. The registration fee for 3 days is $550 and $475 for 2 days. Registration is very limited so sign up now. Pit stalls space is $150 for either two or three days. Sign up for a pit stall on the payment page.

The event is open to all marques, and is not limited to Porsches. All cars must have a technical inspection at an approved shop. We recommend that cars be equipped with DOT "R" tires, but street tires rated for speeds of 149 mph or higher (V, W, Y, or Z)may be used. Tires must be new of nearly new. Boxsters and other late model Porsche convertibles (996/997) may participate with the tops up. Boxster Spyders must run with the top up, but may not exceed 124 mph. In addition, we strongly recommend a roll bar or full cage, a harness, a HANS device, and PCA endorsed track insurance (available through pcahpdeins.locktonaffinity.com).

The host hotel is the Hilton Garden. (Phone 386-944-4000; http://hiltongardeninn.hilton.com/en...tyhocn=DABAHGI) We have also made arrangements for overflow with the Holiday Inn Express (386-258-6333). Be sure to mention the PCA Club Race/DE.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Additionally, the last few years there has been an Italian marque event in early November. Their site only has info for the 2011 event, but I assume they will be having it again this year. In the past, non-Italian cars (even American!!) have been welcome:

But, the best event is our own Henry Gilbert's Hooked On Driving HPDE December 7-8-9:

http://www.hookedondriving.com/hooke...region/Florida

The PCA and PBOC Driver Education sessions are in between racing sessions, and are often cut short because of race cars getting towed off the track and track cleanup.

The PCA event is only open to Advanced solo drivers, but I believe novices can attend the PBOC event.

The Hooked On Driving event is pure HPDE and is open to novices, and Henry's Sport Car Driving Experience has race prepped Corvettes available for you to rent. So come on down to Daytona to have some track fun on a track that's made for high horsepower, high performance, and fast cars - it's the perfect track to really let the beast loose!!!
