Default Katech Track Attack 2012 video in-car from the Beast

Here's a clip of me taking a student out for some laps.

I ramp up slowly to give the student time to adjust to the car and the speed. Student was not wearing a Hans nor Nomex so I only ran low 1:30s which is about 8 seconds off normal pace.

It was a great event and nice to see some new faces getting involved with this perpetual addiction.

Great to see Halltech, Pfadt, Corsa, Brembo, Pilgrim, O'Conell and the GM VIPs there.

Between the motor and sequential the sound of the car is just awesome! I can't help but have a smile the whole time watching the video. Good to see the Beast back on the track kickin' butt.

Sounds like you guys had a great event. I'm sure everything about it was first class. Thanks for the video!!

Those that have never been on track before have a great time and are often amazed how fast we drive.......................at half speed!

Most are okay with the straight-line speed, but the turns and braking is what really wakes them up. You can hear me lifting on the back straight and braking just past the 7 marker. With fresh tires I go to the 4 marker seeing another 15mph and you can feel the Hans straps keep your neck in check as the car stands on it's nose.

The sequential is made by Holinger. It's by far my favorite piece of hardware on the car and makes left foot braking fun.

HP is 600rw give or take a few The car weighs in at 2800lbs without driver.

The car pulls like crazy but was actually babied in this video -- all shifts in this video were between 5500-6500 in order to preserve equipment, redline is 8000.

At Road America the car hits 150mph before Start/Finish.

No, as posted above it's a Holinger, but I've heard good things about the Emco as well.

Hi Alex,

Best time for me is a 1:23.91. I haven't gotten back there since my eye surgery, I'm still hopeful but too much of a wimp lately. Pilgrim slapped down a 1:21:XX before the car had endurance brakes. He drove the car through Million Dollar Corner as if there was 500 feet of runoff room.

Mike,
Great sounds from the car. Wondering if your gearbox is close ratio (6 speed with 6th 1:1) and what is the diff ratio

Really amazing times, both of them. That's just flying there!

Do you ever run with laps? We'll be there testing on the 20th.

Mike,

Wish you could have made the trip. Riley and J Beaton were tearing up the track and you would have made it a hat-trick!

Maybe next year.
