Clutches for Track Only Cars
As above. Would appreciate some advice on what people are using on road racing Z06s. I am leaning towards a sprung hub twin disk, I think the RAM caught my eye. Car runs on slicks, LS7 ~530rwhp, track only. thanks,

If budget allows take a look at the triple disk Tilton Carbon Carbon clutch. I've been doing a lot of research into this and it looks like just about the ultimate track set up with long life and the ability to slip the clutch without burning it up. I know a lot of the high HP boosted import cars run these on the street also. LG I believe also uses them in their race cars if you are interested you might want to give them a buzz.

I got a Spec II clutch because I got a good deal and don't have much hp/tq. I'm happy with it but only have a couple of track days with it. The big motor guys I've talked to all use McLeod and never heard a bad thing about them.

I use the Spec 3+ for my 500+ rwhp track/dd Z. I got 3 ys, 25k miles and and 20 track days out of first one. Could have gotten a little more out of it, but had everything off for bleeder line repl and pilot bearing repl. On second one now.

For a track dedicated car we really love the QuarterMaster Triple disk that we have available. The kit includes everything you will need for install. It weighs in at a super light 25.5 lbs including the steel flywheel, and has proven dead reliable in our C6Z race car over the last 2 seasons.
It's not particularly street friendly, but it's fantastic for street use! If you've got a dedicated track car this is definitely the clutch you want to run.

Thanks to all for the responses. As Mantic are Australian just like me, I've selected a 9000 series twin with their guidance. Spent abut 30minutes on the phone with them yesterday and they have impressed me very much so I have gone their way. Also makes rebuild parts easier for me to get too.

Findanza clutch, pressure plate and aluminum flywheel. Never had a problem. Don't ask about the clutch hydraulics though.

What's wrong with the stock C5Z clutch for a stock-ish motor with stock-ish HP?
I have a SPEC and it doesn't like to release at high RPM, I am thinking of going back to a stock clutch disc and PP, but of course keep the aluminum flywheel.
