Default What head restraint do you like?

I'm considering my first head restraint purchase this year.

What do you use and like?

I currently use the Defender which has been replaced by the Necksgen http://www.necksgen.com/

It is very comfortable and I have been extremely happy with it.

I have a Rage R3. Apparently they are now a Simpson product:

I bought mine several years ago for $595, but it looks like the price for the R3 has increased significantly over the years.

The Hybrid Pro Rage is still priced at $595 and is probably what I'd go for if I were shopping for one now.

The feature I like is that you don't need a shoulder harness setup to use it - it will work if you drive a car with a stock seat belt system.

If you instruct and sit in the right seat of student's cars with stock belts, you can still have head-n-neck protection.

I have a Hans Sport but picked up a Necksgen for my son last spring. If I had it to do over again I'd get the Necksgen. It's light, adjustable and very comfortable.

R3 - I can hop out of the race car and right into a students car with OEM belts and still have protection.

I use the Hybrid Pro Rage by Simpson. Do your due diligence and research them. They are the safest thing on the market now.

+1 on the Hybrid Pro Rage. I would be eager to hear if anything tests better.

I'm in the same situation and opinion. Feels uncomfortable for the first few sessions and then becomes impossible to feel comfortable without it.

Didn't realize it had been replaced...

Very happy with mine as well.

Not sure what has changed in the last couple of years, but when I was looking for mine I saw some research that the DefNder was rated a lot higher for MULTIPLE impacts than the HANS due to the belt guides keeping them where they needed to be even after a hard hit.
