Default Mark your calendars for Katech Track Attack 2013!

The date has been set for Katech Track Attack 2013 - August 14/15, 2013. This year it is strategically placed on the Wednesday and Thursday before the Woodward Dream Cruise. If you are coming in from out of town you can make the most of your trip by doing the Woodward Dream Cruise in addition to Track Attack. We will be arriving in Joliet, IL Tuesday evening, August 13th for Track Attack registration and tech inspection. Track Attack will be on August 14th and 15th. If you wish to extend your adventure you can come back to Michigan with us for a tour of Katech on Friday, August 16th and then head out to Woodward for the evening. The official Dream Cruise event day is Saturday, August 17th.

Stay tuned to our newsletter for Track Attack registration information and announcements.

Jim, just can't do the long road trips with my kids at home. Hopefully I'll get back to travelling to events sooner rather than later. Of course I could stay busy at local tracks every weekend if time allowed as well!

Family should always come first, David, I agree. My offer stands when you can travel. We have plenty of room for you to stay with us but the better tracks are really closer to you.

Steve,
We missed you two at VIR. I always look forward to talking with you. I finally got my car out of the trailer to clean off all of the rubber and bugs after the VIR event.
Got it cleaned up for the Track Attack.

Put in a DOT 4 brake fluid before you go.

These are a few of the items I have on a checklist before I leave for the track:
-- Helmet
-- Tire pressure gauge
-- Hat
-- Sun screen
-- Windex + paper towel
-- Cooler with water and Gatorade to stay hydrated during the day
-- Pants .. You must wear pants when you run. I change to shorts as soon as I come off track.

Most importantly don't worry about your speed. Focus on being safe and learning the line while being slow and smooth.

Thanks for the feedback. Not concerned at all about speed. As you said, just being safe, and learning the line around the track.

Will be putting DOT 4 in this weekend or next. Being the first time out, everything else will be stock, but looking forward to talking with others at the event on other recommended upgrades for someone getting started.

We're trying to get the SLC race car which has a Katech engine, but there have been numerous delays with the sequential gearbox.

Great speaking with you Brett. Aside from what we discussed, don't forget to bring a pencil and pad to start your first track journal entry!
