Default TT3 aero question - 99 FRC vs c5z front bumper openings

hi - i have a 99 FRC.
those 2 openings in the bumper don't have the z06 screens in it, but it doesn't have the stock c5 fillers/fog lights.
Did the FRC have the fillers/fog lights?
Is that more aerodynamic than putting in the z06 screens?

I think the fillers/fog lights are more aerodynamic but I just wanna make sure they are legal (not gonna run aero with NASA). I won't ever go to nationals so just playing locally.

see the openings I'm referring to here, with the tow hook sticking out:

Yes the FRC had fog light closeouts. It is also more aerodynamic than the Z06 screens

You can use either for no aero hit.

My FRC just had holes there when I bought it since the fog lights had been removed. I asked Greg about it (didn't want to buy fog lights) and he said I could just tape over the holes. That was for TTA/PTA so it's surely the same for TT3.

cool - i have the deflectors and the fog lights on my shelf. I just emailed greg to confirm I can tape up the fog light holes. I want to make sure that the tape is still ok given the recent aero changes

Not sure about legality, but I made some covers on my car. I still have templates somewhere to duplicate them.

Is there a point penalty for taping over the openings?

How much aero can be done for the point charge? Is a wing a certain point charge, then taping another charge, canards another charge, etc.?

Aren't the Z06 screens functional is some way for the cooling airflow? Also, for ST the dyno does not have forced air so you get X horsepower. But those aftermarket ram air things that feed from the screen areas where shown to increase power right will not show up on the dyno that isn't forced air. Isn't that a good thing?

No more points hits like there used to be in TTA/PTA.
Now any aero mod is a .5 hp hit.

Negative. All the air that enters the ZO6 screens simply packs the underside of the hood with air causing lift. The only benefit (if you could even call it that) would be more airflow over the PS cooler.

I don't think so. That was a TTA rule.

Any over the road OEM body parts are legal for the non-aero. You can put on any hood (vented) for non- aero also. You can vent the inner fender well also. You cannot mod inner fenderwell for tire clearance.

Why wouldn't a vented hood be considered aero, along with tape over openings? Seems that's contradictory to the "no-aero" rule.

There were good reasons for it. Mostly to reduce the demod of a lot of cars. Like mine.

But they tell me every time I ask for something, "We're not here to make racing cheap, we're here to give you a place to race."
