Default C5 Z06 Oil Weight/Oil Pressure Issue

I am experiencing oil pressure around 25-30 at the track and I would like to get it up to 40. I am running 5W 30 Mobile 1 with an oil cooler and an accusump. With the oil cooler I am seeing oil temps around 240 at the track. My main issue With the low oil pressure is I have a Accusump with a pressure valve that dumps between 35 and 40 psi, so with the oil pressure I currently have it is constantly putting oil into the engine and overfilling the oil pan. It was recommended by a couple of friends at the track that run LS1 engines to go to a 10w 40 oil to help bring up oil pressure. I never run the car in cold weather and is mainly a track car so the oil is normally at high temp. Any opinions on my situation and what running a heavier oil will do for me?

I ran a M1 0-40 and a M1 5-50 oil for the same reasons, it helps (a bit). Have you thought about a 25-30 psi switch on the accusump?

I have run 10/40 in my track car for many years. I never move the car while the oil temp is under 80, and only go over 1500 RPM when it is over 150F. My motor lasted until I pulled it, for 50K miles and 7 years of road racing. It's an LS6. When I tear into it I will find out how it actually fared. The oil pressure never dropped below 30, even when the temps were over 250 F. The new race motor runs 20/50 full synthetic. So far pressures are better still, but it was designed to run on that.

I have low (20-30psi) pressures at track temps (210-230) even running 5-50W oil. I also have an Accusump and an oil cooler. Currently having someone install a new sensor and separate oil pressure gauge to see where oil pressure really is at because I'm not sure the OEM gauge is really trustworthy. I have a high-pressure oil pump and the engine is a Lingenfelter blueprinted unit with forged rotating assembly.

I have. I looked into the different switch last night. I had forgot the pressure switch was a seperate piece from the electronic control valve. Thought I was gonna have to replace the entire thing. Even with a heavier oil I wouldnt think it would bring the pressure up enough for the 35-40 psi switch to work properly.
