Base C5 tires on C5Z06 Rims?

Base C5 tires on C5Z06 Rims?
When I purchased my C5 it came with knock off Z06 rims (Z06 width) but they were chrome and I was afraid of cracking the rims during HPDE so I swapped the tires to my wagon wheels. I have since picked up a set of real Z06 rims and would like to move my tires back as I cannot stand my wagon wheels any longer! I'm going to be doing a HPDE event at Summit Point next month but want to make sure I would not be putting the C5 up for failure by stretching them a little to fit onto the Z06 rims. While I had my chrome Z06 rims I did a HPDE at summit point and did not notice any issues.

Stock c5 z06 sizes are 265/40/17 and 295/35/18.
IMO you'll be ok. Definately go up in size when you wear them out. I like a 275 front and 315 rear for street tires on c5z rims.

When I bought the Z06 rims they came with Hoosier Wets in 275f/315r. I put them on for one autocross and loved the way they looked. 
Tires are quite old and had almost no grip, plus the temps were in the low 50's.
