Default Any thoughts on this splitter?

Got this wing:

I have had wing for over a year, but just trying to decide if I want to do this. Splitter is only $239 shipped, so I would have aero for less than $500.

Thoughts?

You need to go to a front breather if you want a real front splitter.
You can get COT rear wing that actually works for pretty cheap.

How is air going to get to the radiator, there's no opening?

That doesn't look like it will still let enough air flow beneath it? They have another one that has vents:

I didn't like the looks of it, plus I don't have vents where they have vents.

If you leave the car a bottom breather with the splitter as shown you will basically defeat the splitter. Venting the hood and adding an under tray behind the radiator would help quite a bit.

This is for looks only. The vents/openings relieve any pressure that may build up on the splitter. Waste of $$$.

That's kind what I was thinking.

What they all said, running a splitter on a c5 requires conversion from a bottom breather to front breather. For function. If it's just for looks, that's another thing.

I found the best thing to do was to just pony up the cash for a good splitter and undertray (like ACP) and go with it. It is expensive, but it works good.

You can get the ACP splitter and use something like alumalite to make the undertray, vent your hood and for less that $450 you will have more than enough downforce. These pictures are from last year and I have made some minor changes but you can get the idea.

Agreed. Just depends if you want a slightly lower weight undertray that ACP offers or an Alumalite one that's suggested. One thing about going with Alumalite, it's cheaper to replace if you destroy it.

how are we determining the vent locations? I was led to believe if they are not located properly that it won't relive the pressure effectiviely.

I thought anything back on the flat part towards the windshield made sense, but I've been wrong before.

I like the splitter shown and think it could even be made to be functional with a SIGNIFICANT center vent, but your car would overheat in a second as shown.

Is there a color theme here?

The house, the tree, the car?

Hmmm.

I like it.
