Cracks in Rotor - can I run a drift session tomorrow on these?
Wanting to run a drift practice day at PPIR tomorrow and there are no rotors to be found tonight. I'm dumb for not checking sooner but what do you guys think about these cracks. Knowing that drifting doesn't use the brakes as hard as straight track days.
I might have to not go to the track tomorrow! Dumb dumb i ordered fresh fronts for backups but not rears.

these are the rear rotors BTW. I do have spindle ducts and front facing intakes for the front brakes.
How many people are doing spindle ducts on the rear for track days?

but one crack is all the way to the edge

I would too. I've legitimately cracked a couple rotors, and that looks like it won't shake that bad if at all. If my friend doesn't punk out, I'm looking to spectate tomorrow.

Do not run rotors that are cracked all the way through to the outer edge. If you MUST, drill a small hole at the point of the crack, which will help eliminate the stress riser.

I'm with the rest here, those cracks on a rear rotor for a drift event wouldn't bother me. Do the brakes even get hot during a drift session? Just keep checking it throughout the event.

I wouldn't run those on the track but would drive home on them. Have had rotors go from heat checks before a session to cracked from the outer edge all the way to the hub after the session. If drifting is like the drive home then run on them. If drifting puts a lot of heat stress into the rotors like a track session does then don't run on them.

Thanks for all the feedback y'all. The rotors did not blow up! And, I find as hypothesized, drifting does not stress your braking system at all. It does stress your cooling system though... I'm reminded of a flight instructor telling me not to forward slip for a long time as it starves the motor of air flow.
