Default Are TPMS needed on Track & AutoX wheels?

I am mounting BFG Rivals on Z06 Speedlines all around and not using TPMS's on these Track wheels and tires, will this work? I was told today that I need TPM's on all 4 wheels or the car will not run, is this true?
It is a 2001 C5

All help is appreciated,
John

I am not sure about C5s but on C6s, you cannot activate track mode without TPMS. I would imagine C5s would operate similarly

Mine is a C5Z, no TPMS. However, the C6 guys with TPMS use a sealed pvc tube with sensors to fool the monitor into thinking the tire pressures are all OK. They just mount it in the cabin somewhere and can then adjust as they want without the computer screwing up the track day. Perhaps a C5 owner with TPMS can answer your concern. GL.

I had a 2001 Coupe that I ran at numerous HPDE and AutoX events. Had a second set of wheels without TPMS and just swapped them out before the event. Car ran fine in comp mode or with the nannys turned off completely. The DIC showed a low perssure message until the street wheels were installed and the car could read the sensors. Go and have fun and don't worry about the sensors.

No need for sensors. Just tap "reset" if anything comes up on the dash. That way you can read water temp. etc.

Not needed BUT very useful to monitor tire temps on track... I used to determine what tire pressures I needed on track...
