Default Can C5Z06 wheels work on C6 base coupe?

I'm asking this question because I'm buying a friends tire trailer and wheels setup. He's getting out of the HPDE stuff for a while.
Wheels are C5 Z06. If that won't work on my C6 base coupe I'll sell them or trade for another set of OEM C6 wheels.

Thanks V4kerker

I wouldn't see why not if they are the rears. There is a guy I track with regularly who has a C6 Z06 and he runs 4 10.5" C5 Z rear wheels as his track set.

I ran 4 C5Z rears on my old C6 Z51 for quite some time at the track. If you have brake duct cooling up front they can rub at less than full lock, but that can be worked around.

taken19 and JeremyGSU thanks for the info.
I'm not sure if all 4 wheels are rears. JeremyGSU I've got brake ducts installed on my car and I'm already rubbing a little.

I tried to keep the wheel less than one full turn while at the track - kinda tough when getting out of the paddock. You can also relocate the brake duct frame mounting point more rearward and lower on the frame - gives the best clearance that way.

Any pics of that or is it a "max it out" kinda thing?
What did you run up front 295 or 315?

No pics, sorry... To clarify real quick - my street C6 rubbed at anything past just over one full turn. My track only C5Z was good no matter what once I moved the brake duct coolers about 1.5" rear and almost 1" down from its original spot. That will take some trial and error on your part.

I ran as wide as 295 fronts on both cars.

I think ill just pull the ducts for AX. My Hawks like a bit more heat in AX anyway. Any reason you went 295 when the 285 is slightly bigger tread and less sec width?

As has been said the 18x10.5s work on all four corners. If you are getting a pair of front 17" wheels (rather than four rears) they will clear base brakes but not the later diameter Z51 brakes. 17s also fit on the rear.

I've run 17x11" GS wheels F&R but they stick out but are fine for autox (again with base front brakes.)
