Just Installed Auto-Blip
I just installed Auto-Blip on my '13 GS and thought I would share some tips and thoughts.
Cliffs Notes: Installs easy, works as advertised and I like it.
Install Tips:
- It is tight under the drivers side, but very doable if inclined to lay on your back for awhile.
- Read the instructions on the company website, they are really easy to read and follow.
- The biggest problem I had with the install was the clutch harness. I could find no easy way to access the wire loom with it installed. I even tried going six inches down the loom and could not get the insulation off the wires. Easiest method is to undo one bolt (it's less than 8mm, I used a crescent wrench) that will take off the clutch travel sensor. Be careful because this has a fork that attaches to the clutch pedal and is spring loaded, but internally spring loaded (no worries about missing springs). Also, when re-installing this, use blue loctite.
- Be cautious of running the wire harness as to avoid any moving parts such as the clutch or brake pedal and the steering shaft.
- I used duckbill pliers to install the supplied wire clips and they made crimping in the tight space very easy. Needle nose should be a close match.
- I mounted the main "head unit" right under my steering column and have no problems with interference with the steering column or my knees. I ran the harness just to the left of the column, it will exit right behind the dash on the lower left side. This allowed a clean install and is not visible unless you are looking for it. It is a bit hard to see from the drivers seat, but I can easily access the duration and delay ***** for adjustment. I will post pics tomorrow.
- During the programming ACC must be on... ask me how I know???
Thoughts:
I bought this to help me learn to be a better driver on the track. I only do HPDE and as I'm learning the lines, braking, balance and such... I wanted one less thing to worry about. This product seemed to be an ideal solution and so I will see next Sunday at NJMP if it really helps.
I installed and programmed it today and drove around for a few miles to see if it works and also how does it work with the car. I'm very impressed. First of all, brakes first and then clutch in or the unit won't work. With brakes applied and the clutch pushed down it does exactly as advertised... the throttle blips. There is an adjustment for duration and delay (which I have not tried yet) to set it to a particular style or track, but it does work. Kind of funny driving around town going to a red light and the engine blips... Back roads were fun doing the speed limit and then coming to an aggressive slow down... blip.... gear change... on the accelerator.
I will really give this thing a workout next Sunday and can't wait to have it on the track. So far there were no surprises and it works as advertised.

I too am interested. Are you running Lightning Sunday with HOD?
If so, I most likely will be there as well.

I will be with HOD at Lightning on Sunday, black '13 GS with ZR1 front splitter and side skirts... hard to miss. It does not rev match, just increases the rpm's a bit, I think it's about 800rpm. One interesting thing is I have it set up to work with the clutch all the way down, so it sort of forces me to be smoother with the gear changes... unlike drag racing where i want to push the clutch in just enough for gear change, slam gears and do it as fast as possible. With this it's clutch all the way down... as it's going down I'm shifting and smoothly up... Interesting little device and it definitely works on the street.

I'll look for you. I'll be in the 2011 Supersonic Blue Carbon Edition Z06...I should be there with a buddy. He drives a Silver 05 C6 Coupe. We run in the intermediate group.

He had a small issue so he couldn't run on the track, but he drove me in the parking lot to demonstrate it for me and it seemed like it worked well...
