Default failure of dewitts rad in 8 locations

Has anyone else experienced something this catastrophic with one of these?? There's no corrosion at all on the rad, and no damage in the area's that are leaking.

I did just replace my bottle cap and had to go from a 15psi cap to a 18psi cap, but surely 3psi more wouldn't be enough to cause a rad to fail....

I had a ron davis fail in multiple spots. It was determined that the shop I used to use didn't ground the radiator and therefore electrons had their way with my pricy radiator. I replaced it with a nascar radiator for about a 1/3 the price.

I can probably get it by the end of the day. I don't know if it would work in a stock location and it required welding of the upper hose elbow.

I should also say that I don't think my failure was a quality issue with Ron Davis, but due to improper installation.

Never heard of a massive failure of this type before without a car being wrecked. I have been running my DeWitts for 4 years without any type of problem what so ever. crimlC6 -Please give us more information on why an aluminum radiator needs to be grounded.

My understanding is that the way it was placed in my car, radiator contacting metal, it required the provided grounding strip be used to prevent electrolysis which caused about a dozen pin sized hole in the core. Maybe I was given bad info but I spoke with Ron Davis and they were very nice about the whole thing but understandably couldn't foot the bill since the instructions came with bright neon warnings on the subject.

I'm not sure I'd this is where we got my replacement radiator. I laid my radiator forward and threw away a/c so it may not work for everyone.

Iirc mine was $289.00 AND requires welding of the upper hose intake.

How do you "not ground" the radiator in the vehicle??? They tie it in with string or what?

Grounding strap iirc. Anyone install one lately so I know I'm not losing mind?
