Tire pressure guage advice needed
I finally found a tire pressure guage that I really liked .... Until this weekend. I have an electronic guage from Griot's Garage that reads in .1 lb increments... Which has been great but then the batteries died. I replaced them, and everything was working fine. Then while I was at the track this weekend after checking two tires it went dead. I had to barrow gauges all day long. So at this point I am thinking I need a good guage that does not need batteries to work. At the track I used one from Longacres that was really nice but I am not sure which model it was.
What gauges have you had good luck with?

I have a Joes Racing gauge that has been solid and isn't over costly.

I actually wrote a column about tire gauges. Here it is. The main thing is that once you start using a certain gauge never use another one. Most gauges aren't very accurate but they're all pretty reliable. Get three gauges and check the same tire. You'll see what I'm talking about.
btw - Get a gauge that allows you to bleed air out of the tire. I seem to be bleeding air out all day trying to get my pressures to 32 lbs. hot.

I have a Joes Racing gauge that has been solid and isn't over costly.

I actually wrote a column about tire gauges. Here it is. The main thing is that once you start using a certain gauge never use another one. Most gauges aren't very accurate but they're all pretty reliable. Get three gauges and check the same tire. You'll see what I'm talking about.
btw - Get a gauge that allows you to bleed air out of the tire. I seem to be bleeding air out all day trying to get my pressures to 32 lbs. hot.

I won't use a digital at the track.
I have 5 dial gauges, 4, 0-30 and one 0-60.
From using them for many years:
The absolute best is the Longacre large dial (I have 2 of them) , the large dial is easy to read, important on our open wheel stuff where we adjust at 1/2 psi at times.
Intercomp - Very accurate but has a buffering valve that slows the needle while it reads the pressure, a bit frustrating.
Joe's - I have one in the shop, it's a good gauge but not the quality of a Longacre.
RebCo - OK gauge, inexpensive. Would be OK for the "occasional trackday guy".
If you want a serious gauge, get the Longacre. Second would be the Joe's that Aardwolf posted.
If you're doing serious racing, you can have the gauge calibration checked yearly and a good welding supply shop.

I have the Longacre small gauge .... has worked a couple years for me. I keep it in a padded box when not in use or transporting .... LA50412 for like 45 bucks on amazon
